In WindowBlinds, in the Basic Settings:Performance window, the ability to use Hyper Paint is disabled, and it says (disabled if no hardware support), and I was wondering what level of hardware is required to use Hyper Paint. Thanks for your time!

Your graphic card needs more memory before Hyperpaint becomes available

That not nice, now is it? I do too, but that's still not nice to make fun of ppl with old comps, even if it is funny.

I suspect it also needs some level of hardware support in the drivers. Some cards simply don't offer the necessary support.

i believe that is true about the drivers... but if you don't have a card with more than sixteen megs.. don't be sad it is very cheap for a 16 megs card...
and no offense, not trying to make fun
just saying that I've never had a problem with hyper paint on my old slow computer...(just because I bought a good video card and everything else crappy)

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean. Are you seeing the entire function disabled and unavailable or just that the option box is unchecked by default? I think I recall that when I was using my old W98 pc the feature option was faded out and disabled. On my new PC it seems that by default even if the feature is available, the box is unchecked. Sorry for my ponderousness, but I thought I'd mention that just in case it was just that the box is unchecked by default.

Thanks guys for all you help. My computer isnt old, it is just that I built it on my own, and decided to skimp on the graphics card. I am running XP and everything. I guess that I will have to upgrade. Anyway, thanks for all your responses again.

It's another one of those severely under-documented features. As I understand it, the graphics chip must support the feature. Not all graphics chips do. My notebook with a GeForce2Go supports it but I have no idea if it's helping or how to set the slider for window resolution threshold. I've disabled it, set the threshold higher, lower and never noticed any difference.

My SiS305 32 Meg Graphics card has the most up-to-date drivers, but still the Hyper Paint checkbox is disabled and grayed-out. Anyone have any ideas as to why this isnt working?

Your graphics card doesn't support the feature.

How can I tell whether or not a graphics card supports it? (For instance, if I were to buy a new card, how would I know that I am getting one that supports hyper paint?) Thank you for your help, David
